Myers Briggs

In my opinion personality tests seem rather trivial because we are all unique with our own personalities. With that being said I can’t help but partake in the occasional social media quiz about like what Disney character I would be? This is purely to give myself a confidence boost when I am compared to a Disney Princess however I would only share the ones with good results -if my Disney Character was Goofy, then nobody would find out!

Therefore the fact I am posting my Myers Briggs means that I believe it captures me extremely well and in a positive light.

“Protagonists are genuine, caring people who talk the talk and walk the walk, and nothing makes them happier than leading the charge, uniting and motivating their team with infectious enthusiasm.” – Well if you say so Mr Briggs!

I am shocked and delighted that the results reflect how I view myself. I know I’m organised and logical but also spontaneous and creative so personality results can be quite varied but I definitely agree with ‘the protagonist’ result.

They are described as:

  • Natural leaders
  • Full of passion
  • Charismatic
  • Reliable
  • Confident
  • Influential and inspiring
  • Authentic

Which are all qualities that I like to believe I have!

Where there are strengths, there are also weaknesses… Weaknesses include being overly idealistic and being too selfless and sensitive. These are also very true representations of my personality; I am very optimistic and I do take things personally if someone disagrees or doesn’t like my ideas. I can also be really disheartened if something doesn’t work out as well as I’d hoped. I think I can be too selfless at times which can often mean that I don’t have enough time to concentrate on myself because I’m too busy worrying about or helping others.

“At the heart of it, Protagonists need to see how the story ends, to feel and experience the gratitude and appreciation of the people they’ve helped in order to be happy.”

Doesn’t everyone love to help people and then be appreciated for their time, concern and effort? I sure do!

There are far more types of personality than 16 and I believe that no matter what a personality test says, you can achieve whatever you want with dedication, education and hard work! But if a Myers Briggs test wants to tell me my personality is in the same category as Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey who am I to disagree?!
